Top SchoolLeonardo Mariño-ramírez is a computational biology leader and founder who combines over two decades of NIH research experience with hands-on AI-driven protein and peptide design for commercial and agricultural clients. As Managing Member of BioAnswers LLC he builds production-validated pipelines (RFdiffusion → ProteinMPNN → AlphaFold2) and pairs structural design with patent strategy and GPU-enabled deployment to move candidates toward experimental validation. Previously an NIH Stadtman Investigator and long-time NCBI staff scientist, he created HistoneDB 2.0 and published widely on chromatin structure, nucleosome dynamics, and bioinformatics methods. He also advises global agricultural biotech through XperienX and consults for industry, bringing academic rigor to applied product development. Beyond bench-to-cloud engineering, he has a strong track record in workforce development and international capacity-building in Latin America, reflecting a commitment to training the next generation of computational biologists. Based in Rockville, MD, he uniquely blends deep structural biology expertise with practical commercialization and IP-aware design workflows.
