Lior Golgher is a physicist and neuro-technology researcher with over a decade of hands-on experience building advanced imaging systems and signal-processing algorithms, now applying focused ultrasound at INSIGHTEC to tackle challenging brain pathologies. He holds a PhD in neuroscience and dual degrees in physics and electrical engineering, and during his doctorate pioneered a 5D imaging technique combining ultrafast adaptive optics, time-tagging hardware and fluorescence-lifetime contrast to record multicolor 3D video of neural activity. Lior has led a microscopy core supporting 18 labs, managed >$1.5M in equipment and vendor collaborations, and published seven peer-reviewed papers including deep-learning work and a high-profile Optica article. Equally comfortable in optics, fast electronics and scientific Python/MATLAB, he also designs bespoke electronic modules and applies VARX and Hankel-based methods for automated vascular segmentation and MIMO identification. Colleagues value his rare blend of experimental craftsmanship and algorithmic rigor that turns complex photonics into practical neuroscience tools.
