Lisa Jamhoury is a Lebanese-American principal artist and creative director who blends 11 years of experience in contemporary circus, somatics, and software to create cinematic, embodied performances and installations that foreground human agency in digital systems. She treats code and emerging tech as choreographic material, specializing in motion capture workflows from studio-grade systems to low-cost, experimental tools and translating nuanced human movement into responsive digital environments. Lisa directs her own studio while holding interdisciplinary fellowships and residencies with institutions like the Royal Shakespeare Company, EY Intelligent Realities Lab, Onassis ONX and NEW INC, and teaches at NYU ITP where she also completed her master's. Her practice bridges research, open-source tooling (notably work from the xStory/Kinectron lineage) and production, earning recognition from Ars Electronica, IDFA DocLab and the Lumen Prize. Beyond performances and installations, she speaks and publishes on the ethics of human–machine interaction and somatic intelligence, bringing a practitioner’s bodily insight to AI/ML-integrated creative tools.
