Principal Program Manager at Microsoft
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
Summary
👤
SeniorLuca Bolognese is a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft with 20+ years in software, combining early developer/architect roots with extensive leadership of large, business-critical engineering teams. He played a key role in shipping multiple SQL Server and Visual Studio releases, helped initiate LINQ and productize F#, and holds 20+ patents alongside a top-1% technical blog and recognized speaking record. At Credit Suisse he built and scaled trading applications from scratch to a 400+ user suite, hiring and coaching teams across onshore and offshore sites. He remains hands-on—contributing to open source projects like Azure DevTestLab automation and Roslyn source generators—and continues private work on trading and portfolio-management tools. Based in Barcelona/Javea, he blends deep compiler, language, and cloud automation expertise with practical delivery and people development strengths. An unexpected detail: beyond software he has pursued CFA Level I and applied Bayesian ideas to hiring in a Bill Gates–received whitepaper pilot.
