Top SchoolLuca Di Grazia is a software engineering researcher and Great Minds Fellow at the University of St. Gallen, focused on securing software in the era of mass Generative AI by developing automated security testing methods. With a PhD summa cum laude from the University of Stuttgart and nine years of research and teaching experience, he blends program analysis, type systems, and AI-for-code techniques to drive practical improvements in software reliability. His work has been recognized with a major HSG research grant, an ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award, and a winning solution in Uber’s GenAI competition that beat 103 teams. Luca’s background spans postdoctoral research on testing complex systems in production, industrial internship experience at Uber, and hands-on tutoring in systems programming—evidence of both academic rigor and practical engineering impact. He often explores the less obvious trade-offs between automated code generation and runtime security, aiming to make generative tools safer for real-world development workflows.
