Lucas Figueiredo is a researcher and PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Federal University of Pernambuco with a decade of experience exploring natural interaction, hand/body tracking, gesture recognition, and augmented reality. Based in Recife and a long-standing researcher at Voxar Labs since 2011, he combines academic rigor with practical research, including an internship at Microsoft that informed his applied work. His research focuses on making human-computer interaction more intuitive through vision-based techniques for AR, bridging signal processing, computer vision, and UX-aware system design. Known for depth in gesture-driven interfaces, he brings both continuity—having completed his BSc and MSc at the same institution—and a sustained commitment to translating lab ideas toward real-world AR applications.
