Top SchoolMaarten Brouwers is a Software Engineer based in the Netherlands with 15 years of experience improving user-centered processes and building full‑stack web applications, often with Ruby on Rails. He blends interaction design and engineering—shaping UX while shipping robust back ends and devops workflows for clients like KNMI, Digidentity and ING. As a long-term freelancer and founder of HeerlijkZoeken.nl he combines consultancy with hands‑on product work, from ElasticSearch search engines to realtime Elixir prototypes. He contributes to open-source front-end tooling (e.g., enhancing Leaflet.TimeDimension examples and removing jQuery dependencies) and cares about pragmatic, dependency-light implementations. Colleagues rely on him for performance tuning, security‑minded features, and turning complex domain needs into maintainable systems. His background in Human‑Technology Interaction gives him an unusually strong focus on measurable user outcomes alongside technical quality.
