Top SchoolMaarten Pennings is a Principal Engineer and embedded systems/software architect based in Eindhoven with a career spanning over 30 years designing hardware-software co‑designs for sensors, vision systems and consumer electronics. He currently leads cross–business reference designs and demonstrators at ams OSRAM, after driving on‑chip image processing features (HDR, motion, recognition, NN accelerators) and LiDAR/DMS solutions in the Image Sensor division. His work consistently bridges silicon, firmware, drivers and end‑user applications, with repeated roles as liaison to IC design teams and member of internal software governance boards. Maarten’s background includes system architecture and requirements leadership at NXP and Philips, plus teaching and research roles that underscore his ability to translate academic concepts into production products. He is especially skilled at specifying hardware blocks to enable sophisticated on‑chip software processing—an uncommon blend of analog/digital silicon understanding and software architecture. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic, cross‑discipline solutions that turn complex sensor capabilities into demonstrable customer value.
