Top SchoolMahdi Kashani is a manufacturing engineer and entrepreneur with 11+ years leading advanced metal forming, CNC machine design, and automation projects across aerospace, defense, and commercial sectors. As managing partner of two engineering firms and co-founder of an AR startup, he blends hands-on machine design, controls/software development, and business development to move concepts from proposal and SBIR award through patenting and production. His Ph.D. in manufacturing mechanics and prior roles at Spirit AeroSystems and Harvard give him deep technical credibility in stress analysis, materials, and process validation, while his practice running small firms means he also handles quality systems (AS9100), cloud ERP transitions, and team building. Mahdi frequently authors SBIR proposals and collaborates with program managers and IP counsel, an uncommon mix that helps him translate research into funded, protectable products. Located in Wichita, he champions pragmatic software-enabled manufacturing solutions and contributes to open-source and remote-work initiatives.
