Top SchoolMaksim Khadkevich is a software engineering manager in San Francisco with 14 years of experience building ML-driven multimedia and web systems across companies from Facebook and OpenAI to NVIDIA. He combines deep research chops—a Ph.D. in Telecommunications—with hands-on engineering in Python, Matlab, and ML inference backends, having shipped multimedia fingerprinting, acoustic event detection, and production inference services. As CTO of Vertx and an engineering lead at major tech firms, he bridges product, research, and delivery, turning signal-processing expertise into scalable production features. His background in music information retrieval and speech/music transcription gives him a unique edge in audio-centric ML problems often overlooked by typical backend-focused leaders. Colleagues describe him as someone who moves fluidly between low-level algorithm design and high-velocity team delivery, consistently translating academic ideas into reliable systems.
