Malcolm Alexander
Summary
👤
SeniorMalcolm Alexander is a Principal Software Developer with over 15 years of experience building and evolving large enterprise analytics and fraud-detection products, currently focused on Java Spring Boot microservices, Docker, and REST APIs. He blends hands-on engineering with product leadership experience—having set product direction, led R&D teams, and supported major financial customers—to deliver scalable, compliant solutions used by global institutions. His background includes migrating legacy systems to modern web architectures and driving big-data integrations (Hive/Hadoop) while keeping an eye on operational deployment across bare metal, Cloud Foundry, and containers. An MBA in Global Business complements his technical depth, enabling him to bridge strategy, customer needs, and engineering execution. Unusually for a principal engineer, he also prototypes with hardware (Raspberry Pi, ESP32) and explores reactive front-end patterns, reflecting a broad curiosity beyond core backend systems.
