Manfred Andres
Senior Software Developer at ORF Online & Teletext GmbH
Austria
Summary
👤
SeniorManfred Andres is a Senior Software Developer with over 13 years at ORF Online & Teletext, where he helped invent and evolve core web systems for Austria’s public broadcaster. He built early forum and chat systems, developed the CMS and middleware (Helma) that powered ORF’s dynamic sites, and implemented data import/export pipelines for services like wetter.orf.at. His work spans front-end templating to back-end integrations and real-time Java servers, demonstrating a rare continuity from the web’s early days to modern production systems. Comfortable driving both feature development and data plumbing, he’s known for turning bespoke integrations into standardized, reusable platform components. Based in Austria, he combines institutional knowledge of media operations with hands-on engineering that keeps high-traffic public services running. An understated strength is his long-term focus on maintainability—centering evolvable architectures over short-term fixes.
