Top SchoolManinderjit Parmar is a Staff Software Engineer based in Redmond with a decade-plus track record building scalable, fault-tolerant data systems across Snowflake and Microsoft. He’s led core work in metadata, transactions, columnstore and indexing, shaping enterprise lakehouse interoperability through Iceberg REST integrations and catalog-vended storage models. At Snowflake he drove external Iceberg writes to GA, filed multiple patents, and architected Catalog Linked Databases to bridge warehouse and lake paradigms. Earlier at Microsoft he designed distributed, workload-driven index and data-layout optimizations for Azure Synapse, collaborating with Microsoft Research on novel algorithms. He thrives in ambiguous, high-impact systems problems, combining pragmatic delivery with long-term product vision and a commitment to open standards. Outside core engineering he has hands-on roots in computer vision and system provisioning from his early startup and internship work, giving him a broad systems perspective.
