Top SchoolManuel Herrera is an independent software consultant with 15 years of experience delivering full-stack solutions across Java, Spring, React, React Native, iOS, and cloud platforms from his base in San José, Costa Rica. He specializes in modernizing legacy monoliths and building Java 17 microservices with hexagonal architecture while also implementing micro-frontends to accelerate feature delivery across product ecosystems. Comfortable in hands-on development and technical leadership, Manuel coaches teams, shapes agile delivery under Scrum, and bridges backend, frontend, and mobile concerns to stabilize and evolve complex codebases. His background includes deep experience with Groovy, Docker, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL and AWS, and he routinely tackles both maintenance-driven stabilization and greenfield feature work. Notably, he pairs a practical engineering mindset with certifications in Scrum Master and React web development, reflecting a focus on both process and modern web practices. Clients benefit from his blend of legacy-system pragmatism and current-cloud architecture skills that reduce risk while speeding time to value.
