Top SchoolMarc Demierre is a Swiss software and data engineer with 11 years of experience who blends hands-on cloud-native development, DevOps and data engineering into end-to-end, production-first systems. As Tech Lead at Swisscom he has built and operated large-scale billing analytics—spanning Kafka/Flink data pipelines, GraphQL/REST APIs and React UIs—while previously running a self-service, multi-petabyte Big Data platform used by dozens of teams. He co-founded Simon & Josef to apply engineering to sustainability in hospitality, turning energy and resource savings into measurable guest- and cost-focused outcomes. Comfortable from low-level platform ops to customer-facing UX, he also teaches distributed data processing and has a track record of shipping pragmatic open-source-based solutions. Notably, he mixes platform reliability (on-call, IaC, monitoring) with product delivery, making operational responsibilities part of feature ownership.
