Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMarc Espinosa is a seasoned engineering leader with 11 years of experience building and scaling backend systems, now serving as Vice President of Engineering in Barcelona. He progressed from hands-on roles at eBay and Adobe Commerce to technical architect and head/director positions at Mytheresa, where he led API, services and platform reliability efforts using Golang, PHP and Kubernetes. Marc combines strong engineering chops with a founder’s mindset—having launched multiple startups and products—which informs his pragmatic, product-focused approach to architecture and team building. He champions flexible work environments and emergent leadership, emphasizing coaching, cross-team communication and removing blockers to accelerate delivery. Comfortable shifting between code and strategy, he has a track record of migrating monoliths to microservices and enabling teams to ship resilient ecommerce platforms. Less obvious: he also maintains operational fluency from early SRE duties and deployment ownership, giving him credibility when aligning engineering practices with business goals.
