Top SchoolMarc Howell is a seasoned software professional with roots in coding from age 10 and 18 years as a professional developer, now focused on desktop and mobile Ruby on Rails and systems engineering. He blends hands-on full-stack development with deep operational experience—managing Ubuntu/CentOS servers, virtualization (XEN/KVM), nginx, MySQL, Redis and bespoke deployment tooling. As CTO and Senior Developer at ArkTree and now Product Owner for StrutoIX, he has led blockchain integrations, Hyperledger Fabric management tools, SAP ETL and large-scale track-and-trace projects. Previously he grew a single-customer Rails product into a 100+ customer platform, owning everything from payment gateway integrations to advanced resource management. Based in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, Marc pairs pragmatic engineering with a track record of turning complex, high-throughput systems into maintainable, production-ready solutions. Notably, his background spans languages and paradigms—from C and Java rewrites for high-performance billing to functional-language training and tooling—reflecting a rare blend of legacy-system savvy and modern web engineering.
