Top SchoolMarc Schmitz is a Platform Engineer based in Aachen with 10 years of software experience, currently shaping platform reliability and developer workflows at InVision Group. He blends hands-on engineering—from building camera-based PCB alignment tools to web and test automation—with a proven drive for continuous learning and tackling hard problems rather than routine work. His background in Wirtschaftsinformatik and a creative MA in composition/arrangement signals a rare combination of analytical rigor and disciplined creativity, which he’s applied both in engineering and as a longtime professional musician. Comfortable across backend, testing and web projects, he rose internally from Software Engineer to Platform Engineer, demonstrating practical ownership and adaptability. Colleagues describe him as a project-oriented operator with a non‑9‑to‑5 mentality and a preference for challenging assignments. Outside engineering he brings experience composing, arranging and teaching music—skills that inform his collaborative and iterative approach to technical problems.
