Summary
👤
SeniorMarcel De Vries is a seasoned technology executive and co-founder serving as Global MD & CTO of Xebia | Xpirit, leading the Microsoft service line to help organizations build, manage, and operate cloud-native software on Azure with GitHub and Azure DevOps. With 13 years of experience in executive and technical leadership, he focuses on enabling teams to ship secure, compliant production releases multiple times a day through strong engineering culture and DevOps practices. A long-standing Microsoft MVP and Regional Director, Marcel is a frequent keynote speaker and educator—authoring Pluralsight courses and shaping community events like Techorama. He combines hands-on cloud architecture expertise (microservices, Kubernetes, Dapr, containers, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) with business development acumen to move the business needle for clients. Marcel advocates for technically fluent leadership—what he dubs the “Coding Executive Officer”—and mentors organizations to align people-first cultures with continuous delivery. A curious lifelong learner, he’s known for quirky personal habits (rainbow-sorting M&Ms) and for turning technical passion into scalable consultancy offerings.
