Senior🎓
Top SchoolMarcin Zukowski is a seasoned database systems entrepreneur and technology leader with 21 years of experience building high-performance data platforms, best known as a co-founder of Snowflake and Vectorwise. He led research-to-product transitions—turning the X100 research engine into Vectorwise, scaling it to record-breaking TPC-H results and a successful acquisition—then helped shape modern cloud data management at Snowflake. Based in California, he combines deep academic roots (PhD-level work and multiple scientific publications) with hands-on architecture, team leadership, and product delivery across startups and corporate environments. As a board member and scientific adviser, he now focuses on guiding innovation and commercialization of data technologies rather than day-to-day engineering. A less obvious strength is his long track record of mentoring students and assembling lean, energetic engineering teams that bridge academia and industry.
