Senior🎓
Top SchoolMarco Brandizi is a senior software engineer and co-founder with 11+ years of focused experience building Java-based data management systems and life science knowledge graphs. He combines deep expertise in semantic web, linked data and FAIR data practices with hands-on API development and data modelling, applied across research institutions, startups and his own consultancy. At KnetMiner and Rothamsted he architected platforms that make complex agronomy and biomedical data discoverable and interoperable, while contributing to community standards like AgriSchemas and BioSchemas. A PhD-trained bioinformatician, he blends academic rigor with pragmatic engineering—an early hacker inspired by a Commodore 64 who now turns biological complexity into coherent, queryable knowledge. He is comfortable across the stack (Java, PHP, MySQL, Docker, Linux) and is known for translating ontologies and standards into production-grade services that accelerate research reuse.
