Owner at Forge and Form
Berlin, Germany
Summary
👤
SeniorMarcus Eckert is an experienced iOS graphics programmer and owner of Forge and Form in Berlin, with a decade spent building visual systems and animation tooling for clients like HQ Trivia, Netflix, Reuters TV, Uber, and Dropbox. He specializes in converting motion design into performant native iOS code, shipping projects such as Squall (After Effects → iOS) and First Contact (streaming After Effects to iOS), blending creative tooling with production engineering. Marcus excels at whimsical, graphics-heavy features and bespoke animation pipelines that sit at the intersection of design and low-level rendering. His work demonstrates both product-minded thinking and deep technical craft, having solved practical problems for large-scale consumer products and studios. Based in Germany, he runs a small studio that turns complex motion workflows into usable SDKs and apps, often tackling challenges others consider too niche. Expect a hands-on founder who pairs creative curiosity with pragmatic engineering to make motion-first experiences native and maintainable.
