Top SchoolMario Gonzalez is a Senior Software Engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience in SRE, backend development, and infrastructure, currently contributing at EDB after a long tenure on Oracle's Ksplice team. He blends system administration and software engineering skills across private, educational, and open-source ecosystems, having led backend teams, served as CTO, and taught university-level programming. Comfortable in distributed, mostly-remote teams, he has deep practical experience with PostgreSQL, Python/Django, C and GTK, and building integration projects for legacy and third-party systems. Mario’s background includes both product-focused optimization—building vertically scalable billing systems for thousands of customers—and developer tooling, such as translation and localization pipelines for documentation. He pairs formal graduate studies in computer applications with a habit of speaking at conferences and mentoring peers, bringing a pragmatic, systems-oriented approach to reliability and performance.
