👤
SeniorMário Menezes is a physicist and Full Researcher at IPEN/CNEN with 11+ years of experience applying scientific computing, machine learning and e-science to nuclear and health domains. He combines hands-on development in Python and R with academic leadership as a graduate advisor and instructor of courses on knowledge discovery, quantitative modeling and medical image fundamentals. At Mackenzie University he teaches parallel and distributed computing and has delivered applied Big Data and statistical analysis modules, bridging theory and production-ready workflows. His research spans simulation, scientific software, semantic scientific data repositories and ML models from shallow nets to gradient-boosted ensembles tailored for nuclear measurements and biomedical data. Notably, he integrates knowledge management and social network analysis into research workflows—an uncommon blend of data science, domain physics and information semantics. Based in São Paulo, he pairs deep domain expertise (PhD in Nuclear Technology) with practical teaching and multidisciplinary project delivery.
