Mario Salgado
Software Engineer at SchwarzIT
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
Summary
👤
SeniorMario Salgado is a software engineer based in Barcelona with nine years of experience building backend systems and supporting cloud platforms. He has progressed from technical support roles at Apple and HPE into senior backend development on a hybrid monolith/microservices DevOps platform, owning architecture, feature delivery, and cross-team coordination. Comfortable with Domain-Driven Design, raw SQL, and tooling like Open Policy Agent and HashiCorp Vault, he blends pragmatic engineering with a focus on delivery and reliability. His background in Google Workspace and enterprise support gives him strong operational empathy and an eye for production issues. Currently at Schwarz Global Services, he continues to drive backend features and system improvements while mentoring peers and shaping technical decisions. A detail that’s not obvious from titles: he pairs hands-on coding with UML-informed design sketches to break complex backend work into manageable, non-colliding tasks.
