Summary
🤩
RockstarMark Appleby is a staff product designer and design technologist based in Toronto with 12 years of agency and in-house experience building award-winning, highly interactive web experiences. He blends front-end engineering (React, Vue, Angular, Node) with motion and 3D tooling (GSAP, Three.js, Blender, Lottie) to create polished, accessible interfaces and immersive micro-interactions. Having led engineering teams and client-facing delivery at TWG before shaping product design at Amazon, Shopify and now Stripe, he moves smoothly between hands-on implementation and strategic design leadership. He’s fluent in JAMstack architectures, Shopify builds, and AWS-backed serverless patterns, which lets him prototype production-ready systems quickly. Notably, his background in full-spectrum production—from brand and animation to deployment pipelines—means he often ships both the visual concept and the underlying code.
