Summary
👤
SeniorMark Dotson is a Senior Manager of Site Reliability & Infrastructure Engineering with 14 years of hands-on experience building and operating infrastructure from bare-metal datacenters to cloud-native Kubernetes environments. He led VMware lab builds and p2v migrations early in his career, helped drive container, Docker, and Kubernetes adoption at RightScale, and architected end-to-end SDLC infrastructure and tooling as an early member of AppFolio’s Investment Management team. A pragmatic leader, he specializes in shifting ownership left into smaller, autonomous teams and designing resilient networks and multi-environment pipelines that balance developer velocity with production reliability. He also ran a web hosting and solutions company for two decades, giving him deep operational instincts and customer-facing perspective beyond enterprise roles. Based in Santa Barbara, he balances technical leadership with outdoor pursuits—hiking, running, and an avid interest in frisbee golf and craft beer/wine—that reflect his methodical, iterative approach to problem solving.
