Top SchoolMark Freedman is a Senior Staff Software Engineer with nine years of experience delivering mission-critical systems at Johns Hopkins APL, where he has led architecture, development, and scrum teams while mentoring engineers and driving quality and testability initiatives. He combines strong full-stack skills across C#, Python, Java, TypeScript, and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Spring Boot, SQLAlchemy) with hands-on practices like TDD, automated UI testing, and CI/CD to consistently meet tight deadlines. As a former section supervisor and chief engineer, he pairs technical leadership with people management—coaching junior staff and shaping group strategy. Outside of formal roles he consults and teaches, and brings an unexpected curiosity for natural history, collecting spores, molds, and fungi in his spare time.
