Top SchoolMark Gerl is a Staff Software Engineer with nearly a decade focused on designing and shipping high-performance native mobile apps and SDKs across iOS, Android, and multiple OTT platforms, now applying that expertise to dynamic satellite simulation at Northrop Grumman. He has led cross-functional, distributed teams and architected end-to-end systems—most notably a template-driven "Application Studio" and native video playback/ads SDKs that span phones, tablets, and TV devices. Earlier in his career he built cross-platform C++ and Mac/Windows applications, giving him deep systems-level perspective that informs resilient mobile and microservice architectures. Comfortable bridging product, ops, and customer relationships, he’s been recognized internally as a Code and Community Champion and is an experienced public speaker and mentor. Outside of work he balances family life with hands-on pursuits like horse wrangling and chicken coop maintenance—an unexpected detail that underscores his pragmatic, get-things-done approach.
