Mark Langdon is a senior scientist and founder of Gemesys Ltd., bringing over three decades of consulting, systems design and product development experience focused on financial services, telecommunications and government. He combines practical engineering—Python and C++ development on RedHat/CentOS Linux—with research-led work in neural-network AI system design using tools like TensorFlow and the U. of Toronto Xerion/UTS toolkit. A Waterloo-trained economist with deep interests in plasma physics, tensor-oriented languages (APL), data-relationship visualization and financial time-series, he often blends concepts from those domains to drive novel analytical approaches. He maintains and shares legacy and experimental tooling (including sAPL ports and a Gemesys GitHub repository) that reflect a preference for mathematically rigorous, lightweight solutions. Resourceful and stubborn in a productive way, he has even prototyped primitive neural networks running on jailbroken iPads.
