Top SchoolMark Lewis is an SDE III at AWS with 12 years of industry experience and a long academic career as a computer science professor who taught programming, advised students, and conducted research in planetary ring simulation using optimized numerical methods. He builds AI products and automation tools at Amazon using Java, Scala, Python, and TypeScript, and has hands-on experience with embedded and IoT systems from multiple summer contracts. Mark blends deep scientific rigor from a Ph.D. in astrophysics and planetary science with practical engineering across cloud-scale store networking and low-level firmware. He routinely bridges academia and industry through short-term contract work and brings an uncommon mix of planetary science modeling and production-grade software development to complex systems.
