Mark Mathis
Staff Engineer at Live Oak Bank
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolMark Mathis is a staff engineer with a decade-plus track record bridging traditional finance and crypto, currently working on DeFi and Bitcoin-native infrastructure while recently joining Live Oak Bank. He has repeatedly taken early-stage ideas to production—founding and leading engineering teams, building core protocol components, and shipping developer tooling used at enterprise scale. Comfortable in ambiguous, high-conflict environments, he blends hands-on coding (smart contracts, fullstack systems, Go tooling) with product and roadmap ownership. Notably he holds a patent for a decentralized metaverse advertising protocol and has led developer experience initiatives that eased monolith-to-cloud migrations. Based in Charlotte, he pairs practical financial-systems experience with a deep passion for blockchain—blockchain === love.
