Top SchoolMark Ogden is a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years of experience who transitioned from embedded electronics to full-stack and machine-learning-focused roles, bringing a deep appreciation for efficient, well-structured code. He has led teams and delivered resilient microservices for financial and enterprise customers using Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript/React, Kafka, and cloud-native tooling, while emphasizing safety and third-party integration reliability. His engineering approach is rooted in optimizing for performance and clarity—skills honed by rewriting constrained embedded systems—which informs his blend of object-oriented and functional programming practices. Comfortable in both hands-on delivery and technical leadership, he has moved between IC and managerial roles, most recently building production-grade services at Entelect after heading engineering at AECE and working in MLOps. Based in the Western Cape, he combines formal EEE training from the University of Pretoria with a practical knack for translating complex requirements into maintainable, high-performance systems.
