Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMark Riddoch is a seasoned Chief Software Architect with over three decades of engineering experience and 11 years in senior technical leadership, currently designing and driving the open-source Industrial IoT platform FogLAMP (now Linux Foundation Edge Fledge). He blends low-level systems expertise in C/C++ and Unix with modern microservice and Python-based architectures to connect edge devices to cloud historians and processing tiers. Mark has led kernel re-architecture, database proxy design (MaxScale), and cloud DR/DBaaS projects at companies including Sybase, MariaDB, VMware and Dianomic, consistently translating complex requirements into pragmatic, extensible designs. A proponent of UML-driven design and sound engineering principles, he stays hands-on—often implementing whole microservices or embedded proofs-of-concept while overseeing agile delivery. Based in the Greater Oxford area, he brings rare depth across embedded, database, networking and cloud domains, and a track record of turning research and kernel-level work into production-grade, open platforms.
