Top SchoolMark Swardstrom is a Staff Software Engineer and application architect with 15 years of professional experience designing scalable web applications and APIs, currently contributing at TaxBit from Seattle. He brings deep hands-on expertise in React, TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails, and has repeatedly held principal engineering roles across healthcare and SaaS firms while shaping front-end and back-end architecture. His career spans early web and UI work at Disney Internet Group through senior engineering roles at Urbanspoon, Garmentory, and 98point6, reflecting a rare continuity from design-centric UI development to modern full-stack engineering. Mark is comfortable translating product needs into robust API designs and developer-friendly architectures, mentoring teams while still shipping code. An intriguing throughline is his longevity in evolving web stacks—he’s stayed current across decades of platform shifts while maintaining a pragmatic, architecture-first mindset.
