Top SchoolMark Whitfeld is a founder and lead consultant with 11 years of software engineering experience, blending hands-on development with client-facing delivery and technical leadership. Based in Durban, he has led cloud engineering and backend orchestration efforts for startups (notably CRFT through acquisition), served as a senior engineer at StackBlitz, and founded VulaDev to provide consulting and training. A committed advocate of Software Craftsmanship, TDD, Clean Code and Agile practices, he has run training courses and led the NGXS open-source project, reflecting a focus on maintainable front-end architectures. He combines startup pragmatism with enterprise delivery experience, often translating complex requirements into testable, production-ready solutions. An unusual strength is his dual role as both an educator and practitioner—coaching teams while still shipping code across cloud and client projects.
