Top SchoolMark Xu is a venture partner and investor with six years of deal-making and board-level experience, currently at Index Ventures after a recent partner role at Lightspeed. He focuses on early to growth-stage enterprise and infrastructure companies, with portfolio involvement spanning security, observability, and AI startups such as Wiz, Grafana, Anduril, and newer bets like Fireworks AI and Parallel Web Systems. Trained in applied mathematics, economics, and computer science at Harvard and with a Juilliard pre-college background in violin, he pairs quantitative rigor with creative instincts in sourcing and scaling technical founders. Based in Beijing and active as a board observer, he brings a hands-on operational perspective to governance and product strategy. Known for a direct, outcomes-driven approach (and a memorable GitHub quip), he blends LP-caliber diligence with founder empathy to accelerate product-market fit.
