Summary
👤
SeniorMarko Novak is a Senior Software Developer based in Ljubljana with 13 years of experience building distributed systems, control software, and full-stack web and mobile applications. He combines deep systems-level expertise—from peer-to-peer and grid computing to OS and driver development—with practical product delivery, having led control and radiotherapy systems, high-throughput bidding services, and manufacturing execution platforms. As a founder of Proteum he architected smart home and industrial solutions spanning embedded C on Espressif MCUs, C++/Qt control apps, and cloud backends in Java/Kotlin with GraphQL and Docker-based deployments. At Celtra he optimized big-data Spark pipelines and Snowflake integrations, cutting cloud costs substantially, while at Cosylab he led remote teams and contributed to IEC 62304-compliant medical software. Comfortable across languages (C, C++, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python, JS) and environments (embedded, cloud, PLCs, Linux), he often bridges hardware and cloud—e.g., PCIe drivers feeding MQTT pipelines for remote monitoring. His profile reflects a rare blend of low-level engineering and product-focused system design, with a track record of migrating legacy services into modern, containerized infrastructures.
