Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMarkus Hänel is a Berlin-based solopreneur and senior full stack engineer with 13 years of experience building and monetizing consumer software at scale. As co-founder and CTO of ZenMate he helped grow a privacy product to over 45 million users and later exited to Kape Technologies, and he now applies that same product-first engineering rigor to self-funded ventures at Berstend Ventures. He blends hands-on development, architecture and technical due diligence with a disciplined focus on profitability and early validation, shipping usable products that solve real user problems. Comfortable leading teams or going solo, Markus has a track record of turning constrained resources into sustainable businesses and improving daily life for tens of thousands of users. A pragmatic technologist, he values readable, tested code and maintainable architectures—skills grounded in early experience building popular consumer software like RapidShare’s download manager.
