Summary
🤩
RockstarMarkus Knauer is a Senior Software Developer with 19 years of experience, specializing in Eclipse, OSGi/Equinox, and cloud-native tooling from his base in Karlsruhe, Germany. As a longtime EclipseSource engineer he leads the Eclipse Packaging Project, producing the bundles downloaded millions of times yearly, and co-leads the Eclipse RAP project for modular business apps across desktop, browser and mobile. His influence extends into governance roles—member of the Eclipse Planning Council, EclipseRT PMC, the Architecture Council, and the Board of Directors—so he blends hands-on engineering with strategic stewardship of a major open-source ecosystem. Markus is experienced in delivering production-grade frameworks and packages that prioritize modularity and cross-platform deployment, and he frequently bridges community needs with release engineering. Colleagues rely on him for both technical leadership and the operational know-how that keeps widely used developer tooling reliable at scale.
