Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMarlin Forbes is a seasoned freelance developer and web architect with 17 years of experience building large-scale, database-driven web applications and marketplaces across Sub-Saharan Africa. He blends deep Linux and LAMP expertise with modern PHP/Laravel and Python/Flask development, and takes a hands-on interest in DevOps and containerization to keep systems reliable and deployable. Marlin has led technical teams and projects—shaping architecture, CI/CD practices and operational monitoring—while acting as the go-to troubleshooter for peers. His portfolio includes multi-tenant, multi-locale classifieds platforms serving countries from Kenya to Mauritius, demonstrating an ability to scale product complexity across regions. A stickler for standards and reusable object-oriented design, he pairs pragmatic engineering with continuous experimentation to stay ahead of fast-moving industry trends. Based in the Western Cape, he prefers open-source toolchains and enjoys turning messy operational challenges into maintainable, client-facing solutions.
