Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolMarten Wetterberg is a pragmatic software engineering leader with over 16 years’ experience delivering mission-critical systems for government, utilities, and social enterprises from London. He excels at turning legacy, high-cost services into maintainable, scalable platforms—most recently leading a 10x throughput, 99.99%+ availability replacement for a 20-year-old eligibility engine at the Department for Education. Comfortable rolling up his sleeves as architect, DevOps lead and senior engineer, he applies Clean/Hexagonal Architecture to create simple solutions for complex workflows across .NET, Java, Node and React stacks. His background founding and running boutique agencies and social ventures means he balances technical craftsmanship with product empathy and long-term supportability. Not obvious from job titles: he’s been head-hunted for domain knowledge in maritime systems and has a track record of rapidly shipping high-impact citizen-facing services under extreme time pressure. Outside work he teaches sailing and kayaking, bringing the same calm leadership to teams as he does to the water.
