Summary
👤
SeniorMartijn Rijkeboer is a Principal Architect and technology leader based in London with over two decades of experience designing and delivering highly scalable, resilient cloud-native systems for finance and fintech. He has repeatedly led architecture for large digital transformations—shaping microservices, event-sourced platforms and Kafka-based data pipelines that increased throughput tenfold and cut recovery times to minutes. Comfortable at both the strategic and hands-on levels, he bridges senior-stakeholder decision-making with prototype-driven implementation and developer coaching to ensure designs are practical and adopted. His work spans banks, remittance providers and AML platforms where he introduced provider-agnostic cloud visions, privacy-preserving Kafka encryption patterns and reusable SDKs that substantially reduced developer effort. Notably, his designs for Mettle and ComplyAdvantage continue to deliver operational dividends years after deployment, reflecting a focus on long-term reliability and maintainability. He combines formal systems and network engineering training (cum laude) with a track record of shipping production-grade architectures and an entrepreneurial consultancy mindset.
