Top SchoolMartin Major is a seasoned engineering leader with 16 years of experience building and scaling high-throughput backend systems and engineering teams from Prague. Currently VP of Engineering at Realpad and former CTO of Ematiq, he blends hands-on development in Scala/Java, Akka, Kafka and AWS with strong people management and hiring discipline. He has architected systems handling millions of requests per minute and managed data at the scale of hundreds of terabytes while optimizing for low latency and cost. Comfortable running SCRUM, performance reviews, and technical roadmaps, he prefers sustainable, long-term projects and minimal bureaucracy. Pragmatic and technical, he moves between code and strategy—often surfacing operational improvements that reduce cost and increase reliability. Fluent in Czech and proficient in English, he seeks senior leadership roles based in Prague rather than short-term or frontend-focused engagements.
