Senior🎓
Top SchoolMartin Van Aken is a pragmatic software engineer, coach and one-man product team with 12+ years of experience building mission-driven tech for health, education, climate and inclusion. He blends hands-on coding (Python, Ruby, JavaScript/React) with product leadership—having co-founded a startup, scaled a tech team from 1 to 20+ as CTO, and repeatedly shipped MVPs and product lines. Comfortable toggling between developer, technical advisor and trainer roles, he mentors teams and teaches at institutions like Le Wagon and HE Vinci. He prefers working directly with mission-aligned organisations rather than through intermediaries, because his value lies in directly understanding needs. Notably, his productivity superpower is ruthless prioritization—knowing what not to build so teams focus on real impact. Based in Brussels, he combines technical depth with a long track record of turning complex domain problems into practical, cost-effective solutions.
