Top SchoolMason Cole is a lead software engineer with 11 years of experience building mission-critical systems for the U.S. Navy, currently heading the DRotE (SPY-1 Radar) initiative at NAVSEA. A Johns Hopkins CS graduate with a visual art minor, he blends rigorous engineering—cloud migration, data analytics SDKs, adaptive optics testbeds—with a creative eye honed by photography and animation. He has repeatedly led small teams to design modern interfaces and scalable infrastructure for classified combat- and sensor-data projects, moving legacy workflows into the cloud. Outside defense work he has built genomics data tooling in academic research and shipped mobile apps as an Android developer, showing breadth from research prototypes to deployed systems. Known for pairing technical leadership with hands-on development, he brings an unusual mix of aesthetic sensibility and systems-level discipline to complex, high-assurance software.
