Massimo Zappino is a versatile software engineer based in Lombardy, Italy, with 11 years of experience building high-performance web and search systems. He has a strong full-stack background spanning PHP, Java, Linux, MySQL/SQL Server, Apache Solr, and REST/OAuth integrations, and has repeatedly led migrations and performance-driven infrastructure work. At 7 pixel he helped design a continuous indexing search engine and features like Did You Mean and Autocomplete, while at Getronic he migrated applications and databases from Windows/.NET to PHP/Linux and AWS. Currently at Nozomi Networks, he applies his systems and networking know-how to security-focused engineering challenges. Colleagues value his pragmatic TDD approach and ability to keep response and indexing times low under heavy load. He combines hands-on coding with operational ownership—often tackling both search relevance and the infrastructure that keeps it fast.
