Top SchoolMat Rowlands is a Senior Solutions Architect and engineering leader with 11+ years of experience designing and delivering resilient, cloud-native systems across startups, public sector and enterprise, currently splitting time between AWS and a CTO role at yovo in Berlin. He specialises in extracting microservices from monoliths, DDD, CI/CD, serverless architectures and complex fintech/PSP integrations, with hands-on expertise in .NET Core, Python, Node.js and document/time-series databases. At JustGiving and TfL he led large migrations to AWS, defined asynchronous integration patterns for high viral-scale traffic and steered multidisciplinary teams toward PCI-compliant deployments. Known for turning research and prototypes into production—ranging from realtime transport APIs and mapping innovations to AI-driven experiences—he combines deep low-level engineering roots (device drivers and custom compression techniques) with modern cloud practice. Collected awards and a 1st Class degree in Computing underline a career driven by practical creativity and measurable impact.
