Matheus Rangel
Staff Software Engineer at PicPay
São Paulo, Brazil
Summary
🤩
RockstarMatheus Rangel is a Staff Software Engineer based in São Paulo with eight years of experience building reliable, distributed systems and a track record of shipping high-quality backend and frontend features at PicPay. He has progressed from developing gateway plugins and monitoring dashboards to architecting decision-tree platforms and a custom compiler that converts a statically typed language into JSON for an internal SDUI, reducing human error and boosting developer productivity. Comfortable across the stack, he has deep hands-on experience with concurrency, idempotency, fault tolerance, and integrations with Kafka, Redis, SQS, MySQL and many other services. An active open-source maintainer, he builds and evolves HunterPie, a modern Monster Hunter overlay with over 80k weekly users, contributing UI features like chat views and weapon sharpness displays. Curious about compilers and reverse engineering, he pairs pragmatic engineering leadership with a continual appetite for low-level systems research.
