Top SchoolMathieu Mailhos is a Staff Reliability Engineer based in Sydney with over a decade of experience designing and operating resilient cloud-native systems for large-scale consumer and data platforms. At Canva he leads GenAI initiatives for incident response and reliability risk management, and previously helped found their Reliability team to roll out SLOs, autoscaling, fault-injection, canaries and org-wide reliability practices. His background spans DevOps, distributed systems, and security-focused engineering—from managing multi-cluster Kubernetes and logging pipelines to building privacy-preserving data matching services and cryptography-aware features. He combines hands-on languages like Go, Python and Ruby with infrastructure tooling across AWS, GCP, Terraform and Prometheus to tune performance and reduce blast radius. An entrepreneurially minded engineer, he founded a mobile startup and brings product instincts to reliability work, recently adding practical ML/AI certifications to apply LLMs for discovery and remediation of reliability risks.
